Born on March 8, 1994, Soniya has always been immersed in the world of art. Whether it was writing poetry, dancing, or posing for the camera, she naturally gravitated toward creative expression.
Since childhood, she dreamed of modeling. But back then, modeling wasn’t a widely accepted career choice. Societal expectations and misconceptions made it difficult to pursue such a path. Like many others, she chose a more conventional route, working as a Career Counselor and HR professional starting in 2014.
Yet, the dream of modeling never faded.
A New Chapter in Dubai
Everything changed when Soniya moved to Dubai. Surrounded by a vibrant and diverse fashion scene, she decided to take a leap of faith. This was her moment.
“I always felt a deep pull toward modeling. When I got to Dubai, I told myself it’s now or never,” she shares.
In the beginning, breaking into the industry was not easy. She struggled to get meaningful projects, faced rejections, and had no network to rely on. But Soniya stayed consistent, worked hard, and kept a positive mindset. Eventually, doors started opening.
Modeling as a Form of Artistic Expression
For Soniya, modeling is not just a profession it’s a passion and a powerful art form.
“Modeling is more than just posing. It’s storytelling. Fashion is an art, and models bring that art to life,” she says.
She enjoys working on diverse creative projects and collaborating with designers and photographers. Her energy and authenticity resonate with audiences and brands alike.
Empowering Others Through Glamour Galleria
Having faced a difficult path herself, Soniya is committed to supporting newcomers in the modeling industry. She organizes fashion networking events that bring together models, designers, and photographers to build valuable relationships.
“When I started, I had no one to support or guide me. That’s why I created Glamour Galleria,” she explains.
Glamour Galleria is a platform she founded to help aspiring models get featured in photo shoots, fashion shows, and events. It’s a space where emerging talent can grow and gain exposure without facing the same struggles she did.
Major Milestones and Achievements
Soniya’s journey has been filled with remarkable achievements. One of the most memorable was being named Best Model of Dubai Luxury Fashion Show in 2023. That moment validated her years of effort and passion.
She also fulfilled another lifelong dream by appearing on magazine covers. But perhaps the most unforgettable experience was participating in New York Fashion Week and doing a fashion shoot in freezing February temperatures.
“Those moments are everything to me. They remind me that hard work pays off,” she says.
Behind the Glamour: Challenges and Realities
Despite her success, Soniya acknowledges the challenges that come with the industry. Dubai’s fashion scene is filled with global talent, which makes standing out difficult.
“One of the hardest things is constant comparison. It leads to self-doubt,” she says.
She has also dealt with unreliable agencies, biased casting, and favoritism in the industry. Sometimes, success feels more about connections than talent. But instead of being discouraged, Soniya focused on what she could control her consistency, attitude, and values.
“I believe that if you keep showing up with intention and effort, your moment will come,” she adds.
Staying Grounded and Genuine
As her visibility grows, Soniya remains humble and grounded. She hopes to be remembered as someone kind, genuine, and true to herself.
“I’ve seen so many people, so many energies. What stayed constant was my core my peace and my kindness,” she says.
She believes in living life with intention, letting go of ego, and embracing compassion. Her calm energy and authentic spirit are what she hopes people remember her for.
“I don’t carry attitude I carry intention,” she adds with a smile.
Advice for Aspiring Dreamers
To those just starting out in any field, Soniya offers heartfelt advice.
“Don’t wait for the perfect time, the perfect opportunity, or the right contact. Start now. Take the first step,” she encourages.
She understands what it’s like to feel alone or unsure. Her message is clear don’t compare yourself with others, and don’t let slow progress discourage you.
“Everyone has their own timing. Stay focused on your journey. If you keep showing up with purpose, your time will come,” she says.
Soniya also wants people to know that she’s open to connecting with others.
“If you ever feel lost or just want someone to talk to, write to me. I might take time, but I will reply. I know what it feels like to walk the path alone,” she says warmly.
