Oman Air Cargo and Jettainer Extend Partnership for Four More Years

Oman Air Cargo has reaffirmed its commitment to efficient cargo operations by extending its partnership with Jettainer, a leading provider of Unit Load Device (ULD) management services. The two companies have signed a contract extension for an additional four years, solidifying their collaboration that began in 2017.

Since the inception of their partnership, Jettainer has managed a fleet of approximately 2,000 ULDs tailored to meet the specific needs of Oman Air Cargo. This collaboration has contributed to increased revenue, enhanced sustainability, greater flexibility, and reduced operational costs for the airline.

Michael Duggan, Vice President Cargo at Oman Air, expressed his satisfaction with the partnership, stating, “Jettainer has been our partner of choice for ULD management for several years now, and their expertise and services have ensured that we are always optimally supplied with ULDs. The combination of innovative solutions, excellent customer service, and absolute reliability convinces us that Jettainer is the right partner for us now and in the future.”

Dr. Jan-Wilhelm Breithaupt, Managing Director and CEO of Jettainer, echoed this sentiment, saying, “The contract renewal with Oman Air underlines our strong partnership and the quality of our service. Jettainer stands firmly with Oman Air in its transformation journey. With our focus on efficiency, digitalisation, and innovation, we will continue to contribute to Oman Air’s competitiveness in the coming years.”

Over the years, the partnership has navigated various challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, adapting to changes in network, schedules, and fleet. In 2023, Oman Air expanded its cargo operations by introducing its first freighter, a Boeing 737-800 BCF, followed by the addition of a Boeing 787-9 in 2024 and a Boeing 737 Max 9. The airline plans to further expand its fleet with 12 more aircraft expected by 2029. Jettainer has played a crucial role in supporting these developments by ensuring well-organized ULD management and adjusting the ULD fleet to meet the airline’s evolving needs.

The extension of this partnership underscores the mutual trust and commitment between Oman Air Cargo and Jettainer, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and service quality in the air cargo industry.
