Gulf Magazine: First of all, how are you feeling now? Has your recovery progressed since the rib fracture?

Mohamed Ahmed Fouad Amin: Thankfully, I’m feeling much better. Recovery is ongoing, but each day brings progress. The pain was intense in the beginning, but the experience gave me something rare — the chance to slow down, reflect, and recalibrate both personally and professionally.

Gulf Magazine: Can you walk us through what happened? How did the injury occur?

Mohamed: It was an ordinary fall — a simple moment, really. But the pain that followed was anything but minor. I went to a hospital in Dubai and was told everything was fine. No scans, no imaging, just a brief check. But the pain persisted. A week later, I sought a second opinion, and after proper imaging, it was clear: two fractured ribs, the fifth and sixth on my left side.

Gulf Magazine: That must have been frustrating. What did this experience teach you — as a person and as a professional?

Mohamed: It reminded me that what we see on the surface is often misleading. Just like in real estate — some buildings look flawless outside, but only deeper inspection reveals structural weaknesses. It’s the same with our health, and with life. This injury taught me to listen more — to myself, to pain, to silence — and not ignore the hidden signals we often brush off.

Gulf Magazine: You’re the CEO of a valuation firm. Did this moment of forced pause influence how you run your business?

Mohamed: Absolutely. I became more intentional. Leadership isn’t just about pushing forward — it’s about awareness, clarity, and balance. I began delegating more, listening more, and even evaluating internal “cracks” in our systems — the small inefficiencies or pressures that we sometimes ignore. The experience humanized my leadership style.

Gulf Magazine: You wrote a piece titled “When the Body Breaks… and the Mind Rises”. What inspired you to share something so personal?

Mohamed: I believe in authenticity — especially in business. We often present ourselves as invincible, but it’s in vulnerability that we grow. I wrote that article because I wanted to turn a moment of pain into insight. If I could draw parallels between real estate and recovery, and it helps someone reflect or slow down before burning out, then it’s worth sharing.

Gulf Magazine: Any final words for your clients, colleagues, or readers?

Mohamed: Take care of your foundations — whether in buildings or in yourself. Don’t wait until a crack becomes a collapse. And remember: even in stillness, there’s progress. I’m returning to work stronger, calmer, and more focused than ever — with renewed appreciation for what truly holds value.
