When you scroll through her Instagram feed, follow the posts, and watch the stories, you’d think it’s all sunlit poses, serene smiles, and effortless flow. But the story behind Mary a certified yoga instructor (RYT 500), sound-healing practitioner, spiritual guide based in Bahrain, currently undergoing her Pilates Reformer training, and fluent in Arabic, English, and French is anything but effortless. Her journey from leaving a corporate career in 2016 to embracing the full breadth of yoga, water-balance practices, and meditative healing speaks of struggle, transformation, and unwavering purpose.

Leaving the Predictable, Embracing the Unknown

Mary’s decision to quit the corporate world in 2016 was a turning point. The corporate ladder, the nine‑to‑five, the predictable path: she looked at it, and realised it was no longer aligned with who she felt she was becoming. In 2017 she travelled to South India for her first teacher training: 200 hours in traditional Hatha yoga, plus meditative practices to find relaxation and deeper purpose. That bold step marked her re‑birth into a new life.

Building Foundations: Teaching in Bahrain

After that intensive training, Mary chose to plant roots in the Kingdom of Bahrain. She began teaching students from all walks of life, sharing over 400 hours of teaching before diving deeper into advanced trainings. Her classes resonated because they weren’t just about asanas or looks, but about connection, healing and authenticity.

Achievement Unlocked: Sup‑Board Yoga & Advanced Training

Yoga on a stable mat indoors is one thing. Yoga balancing on water? That’s another level. Mary recently became a certified Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP) Yoga instructor, guiding practitioners to balance body and mind in semi‑floating, semi‑floating15 situations. That achievement speaks to her willingness to stretch beyond the usual. And if that weren’t enough, since summer 2022 she returned to India for an advanced 300‑hour yoga teacher training deepening her knowledge, her discipline, and her capacity to serve.

A Harmonious Offering: Sound Healing and Splits Program

It’s not just yoga poses. Mary offers sound‑healing sessions alongside her asana practice. Sound healing is increasingly recognised for its positive benefits helping people relax, release tension, and shift energy. By weaving it into her offerings, Mary creates a holistic space: body, mind and spirit aligned. She also promotes a “Splits Program” for flexibility-seekers a testament to her practical, goal‑oriented side.

Vision and Values: Inspire Through Authenticity

What truly stands out is her vision. Mary doesn’t aim merely to teach yoga. She aims to inspire. She openly shares her lifestyle, her struggles, her achievements, her current happening because she knows that transformation is messy, human, and real. Her story becomes a mirror for others: if she can leave the corporate path, face the unknown, train deeply, get certified, teach widely then maybe they can too.

What Her Students Experience

When a student attends one of Mary’s sessions they’ll likely find:

  • A teacher offering both discipline and gentleness.
  • A practice rooted in traditional Hatha but open to modern explorations like SUP yoga or sound healing.
  • A space where the journey not just the pose is honoured.
  • A guide who shares from her own story, making the practice inclusive and relatable.

Why This Matters Now

In a world where “wellness” can often mean trending poses, flashy social media shots and one‑size‑fits‑all programs, Mary’s path is refreshing. She marries certification (RYT 200, then RYT 500) with lived experience. She merges advanced training with grounding in service. And she turns what could’ve been a comfortable corporate future into an inspiring story of courage, passion and integrity.

What’s Next for Mary

While already impressive, this chapter in Mary’s life seems far from over. With her advanced training completed, her SUP yoga certification in hand, and a growing community in Bahrain and beyond, the next steps could include retreats, international workshops, deeper sound‑healing modules and perhaps publishing her story so others can follow.

Why You Should Follow Her

If you’re looking for inspiration, transformation, or simply to feel more aligned: Mary is more than a yoga instructor. She is a living example that change is possible. That leaving “what everyone else does” can lead to what you were meant for. That deep training matters. That healing can be playful, profound, physical and spiritual.
