A Celebration Rooted in Joy and Expression
The air is thick with excitement as Kala (Art) Kuwait unveils its flagship event, the 21st anniversary edition of NIRAM 2025. On Friday, 14 November 2025 at the Indian Community School, Khaitan in Kuwait, hundreds of young minds from Indian schools across the country will gather to paint, sculpt, and express their creativity. With the theme of Children’s Day marking the birth of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, this event is much more than a competition it’s a celebration of youthful imagination, community spirit, and cultural pride.
From crayons to water colours, clay modelling to a free canvas marathon for parents and visitors, NIRAM 2025 offers every participant a chance to shine. The very fact that this is the 21st edition speaks volumes about Kala (Art) Kuwait’s enduring commitment to nurture talent and foster creative confidence among children.
This Year’s Format: More Than Just Colours
In designing NIRAM 2025, the organisers have created a programme that ensures wide participation and fair competition. The painting competition is divided into four clear age groups:
- Group A: LKG to Grade 1 (1 pm to 2 pm) medium: crayons or colour pencils
- Group B: Grades 2 to 4 (2 pm to 3:30 pm) medium: crayons or colour pencils
- Group C: Grades 5 to 7 (2:30 pm to 4:30 pm) medium: water colours
- Group D: Grades 8 to 12 (2:30 pm to 4:30 pm) medium: water colours
In addition, for Grades 7 to 12 there’s a clay modelling competition (2:30 pm to 4:30 pm) with clay provided by the organisers, while the participants bring their own painting supplies. On top of that, a marathon open canvas painting session invites parents, visitors, and guests to engage creatively too. The drawing paper will be provided by Kala (Art) Kuwait.
The variety of media and age segments underscores the inclusive vision: to let every child, no matter their grade, feel empowered and recognised. The open canvas for parents and guests adds a communal, joyous dimension rather than limiting it purely to competition.
Prizes, Recognition, and Encouragement
The prize structure for NIRAM 2025 is generous and inspiring. First place winners will be awarded a gold coin and gold medal, second place a silver medal, third place a bronze medal, plus mementos and certificates. Beyond the top spots, 75 participants will receive merit prizes, and 10 percent of the total participants will be awarded consolation prizes. Parents participating in the open canvas session also have a chance to win prizes.
This inclusive reward system ensures that not just the very top achievers but many young participants feel valued, celebrated, and motivated to keep creating. It’s not just about winning it’s about participation, confidence, joy, and growth.

The Power of Community and Cultural Expression
What makes NIRAM 2025 resonate deeply is its cultural and communal context. Organised by Kala (Art) Kuwait, a leading socio cultural organisation among the Indian community in Kuwait, the event is anchored in the organisation’s mission to promote art, culture, and unity in diversity.
Children’s Day honours Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s legacy, recognising children not merely as passive recipients of education but as active creators of the future. By aligning a painting competition with this significance, Kala (Art) Kuwait sends a message: each child carries creative promise, and every stroke of colour reflects potential for tomorrow.
In the context of Indian schools in Kuwait, this event becomes a bridge between heritage and environment, where young minds in the expatriate setting explore cultural roots, personal identity, and community expression through art.
Why NIRAM 2025 Matters
For the children of Indian schools in Kuwait, NIRAM 2025 is more than an event—it’s a platform. It provides:
- A safe space to explore creativity beyond textbooks and exams
- A moment to connect with peers, share ideas, and feel seen
- A tangible goal to prepare for, inspiring practice and personal growth
- Recognition not only for winners, but for participants widely
- An inclusive community event where children, families, and educators come together
For families, teachers, and the Indian expatriate community in Kuwait, the event reinforces shared values: cultural continuity, artistic expression, celebration of youth, community bonding, and the joy of collective achievement.
How to Participate and What to Expect
Registration for NIRAM 2025 is open online until 10 November 2025. Students from Indian schools in Kuwait are eligible to register, providing their details such as full name, guardian’s name, Civil ID, school, standard, and competition type (painting or clay modelling).
On the day of the event, participants should arrive at the venue on time according to their group’s schedule. They must bring media supplies where applicable (crayons, colour pencils, water colours) unless otherwise noted; the organisers will provide stamped drawing papers and clay for the modelling competition. Parents and guests are allowed to join the open canvas painting session. The atmosphere will be vibrant, encouraging, and full of energy.

Building a Legacy, One Brushstroke at a Time
Over two decades, NIRAM has built a reputation for nurturing young talent among the Indian community in Kuwait. The fact that this is the 21st edition reaffirms its legacy and impact. Every year the number of participants grows, the quality of creativity displays expands, and the community engagement deepens. Kala (Art) Kuwait is proud to stand at the forefront of this journey.
What’s special is the idea that each child’s artwork is not simply judged but celebrated for effort, imagination, and voice. The inclusive prize distribution, the open canvas segment, and the presence of parents and guests emphasise that this is a collective cultural moment, not just a competition.
Inspiration for Young Creators
To every young participant, here are thoughts to take into the competition:
- Let your imagination roam free, don’t worry about perfection, focus on expression.
- Use colour boldly, your brush or pencil is the voice of your thoughts.
- Think of a story behind your artwork. Why does it matter to you? What feeling do you want to convey?
- Get excited about the moment: the applause, the friends, the little stage of your creation.
- Remember, the joy is in creating, not just winning. Your participation matters.
Closing Thoughts
In a world where screen time often dominates and creative outlets struggle to find space, NIRAM 2025 stands as a beacon of hope and inspiration. By celebrating children’s art, Kala (Art) Kuwait lets every young soul feel that their creativity matters. On 14 November, at the Indian Community School in Khaitan, the canvases will come alive with colour, clay will transform into imagination, and parents will witness the pride and promise of their young artists.
This is more than an event, it is a festival of dreams, a celebration of youth, and a step towards a brighter, more creative world.
