Kyrgyzstan and Kuwait Strengthen Bilateral Relations Through High-Level Talks
Foreign Ministers Discuss Economic Growth, Investment, and Regional Cooperation
In a significant diplomatic engagement, Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Minister, Jeenbek Kulubaev, met with Kuwait’s Foreign Minister, Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, in Kuwait City on February 19-20, 2025. This high-level discussion aimed to reinforce bilateral relations and expand cooperation in trade, investment, education, and humanitarian efforts.
Strengthening Political and Economic Ties
During the talks, both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to deepening political and economic collaboration. They emphasized the importance of increasing trade volumes and diversifying economic interactions between Kyrgyzstan and Kuwait.
Kuwait has been a key partner in Central Asia, and Kyrgyzstan is eager to attract Kuwaiti investment in infrastructure, tourism, and agriculture. Minister Kulubaev highlighted Kyrgyzstan’s vast economic potential, inviting Kuwaiti businesses to explore investment opportunities in energy, transport, and construction sectors.
Foreign Minister Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah acknowledged the strong historical ties between the two countries and reiterated Kuwait’s willingness to support Kyrgyzstan’s development through financial and technical assistance. He expressed Kuwait’s interest in exploring new avenues of cooperation, particularly in renewable energy and digital innovation.

A key topic of discussion was the role of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) in financing projects in Kyrgyzstan.
