Dubai-based singer Laura LaRudche has spent the past five years rising in the city’s vibrant performance scene. But her journey began far from the spotlight—working nearly a decade as a flight attendant while quietly building her dream of becoming a full-time artist.
“Even while flying, I was recording my album and working on my music,” says Laura. “But I couldn’t fully focus on it, because I was always in the air.”
Born on November 15, 1988, Laura’s love for music and the stage started early. Yet like many creatives, she chose stability first. Her aviation career funded her artistic exploration, helped her travel the world, and gave her the discipline that would later support her transition into music full-time.
But eventually, she knew it was time to make a choice.
A Bold Shift: Choosing Creativity Over Comfort
Leaving a steady career in aviation for the unpredictability of music wasn’t an easy decision. But for Laura, it was necessary.
“This path wasn’t something I chose—it chose me,” she explains. “I’ve always loved the stage. I feel no fear, no shame. Performing brings me so much joy.”
With that joy came tough realities. The music industry, especially for independent artists, can be full of challenges—from financial pressure to navigating people with hidden agendas.
“It’s heartbreaking sometimes,” she says. “I do this because I love it. But unfortunately, there are always people trying to take advantage, not just of your talent, but of your money.”
Still, Laura remained focused. Her love of music, creativity, and audience connection pushed her forward.
Finding Her Voice in Dubai’s Live Music Scene

Laura began performing professionally in Dubai about five years ago. Her journey started the traditional way—emailing venues, attending auditions, and slowly building her network.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, she didn’t slow down. Instead, she leaned into creativity.
“I made one performance video every single day during lockdown,” she shares. “Eventually, some directors and radio stations started noticing.”
That daily consistency not only built her audience but also opened doors. Despite not having name recognition at the start, Laura’s persistence and professionalism began speaking for themselves.
“I wasn’t known in the industry, so I had to prove myself repeatedly,” she says. “And rejection never gets easy. But I’ve learned to take it in stride—it’s their loss.”
Internal Growth: From Self-Doubt to Self-Belief
For Laura, the most important breakthrough wasn’t public—it was personal.
“My biggest achievement was finally believing I’m good enough to entertain—even if it’s just me on a stage,” she says. “When you trust your talent, no one can take that away from you.”
That belief became a turning point. Once she embraced her worth, her performances became more confident and powerful—and her career followed suit.
What’s Next: Music, Media, and a Multilingual Platform
Laura is currently balancing multiple projects that blend music, media, and fashion.
“I’m developing a podcast and talk show—first in Spanish, then in English,” she shares. “I’m also working on a new album that includes jazz, tango, and dance-pop influences, as well as music videos.”
These projects reflect Laura’s multifaceted identity—not just as a performer, but as a cultural ambassador and public figure. She hopes her work will inspire others to take bold steps in their own creative journeys.
Lessons Learned: Be Relentless and Unapologetically Yourself
Over the years, Laura has faced doubts, financial strain, and industry politics. But she’s also learned valuable lessons along the way.
“There were many times I thought about giving up,” she says. “But we only get one life to do what we love. So there’s really no time to waste.”
She encourages other aspiring artists to stay true to their instincts, especially when faced with rejection or pressure to conform.
“Don’t take no for an answer. And don’t try to please everyone—you’re not everyone’s cup of tea. And that’s actually a good thing.”
“Why be vanilla when you can be an exotic flavor that not everyone dares to try?” she adds with a smile.
Creating With Purpose: Beyond the One-Hit Wonder
Unlike some in the music world, Laura isn’t chasing short-term fame or viral hits. Her mission is deeper.
“I want to create music that lasts—timeless songs that reach the heart,” she says. “I want people to feel encouraged to be themselves and pursue what they love.”
Her message is consistent across her work: believe in yourself, follow your gut, and be fearless in your expression. She sees music as both a personal and social tool for emotional connection, resilience, and authenticity.
Advice to Her Younger Self—and to Others Like Her
If she could speak to her younger self, Laura would be direct.
“You are good enough. Don’t wait. Do it—even if you do it wrong, just do it anyway.”
She also offers a realistic warning to young artists about the industry.
“Not everyone wants the best for you. Some people will say what you want to hear just to take advantage. You need to protect your art and your earnings.”
And above all, she encourages others to trust their inner voice.
“Sing the song. Wear the outfit. Take the risk. Follow your instincts. And always—make art.”
