Masoud ALesri, known on Instagram, once grappled with intense shyness that made even family gatherings daunting. In college, the mere thought of presenting a paper left him paralyzed with fear. However, a particularly challenging class presentation became a turning point, igniting a determination to confront his fears and pursue his passion for performance.

Determined to overcome his anxiety, Masoud began practicing public speaking by watching YouTube videos. His efforts paid off when he delivered a successful presentation, earning praise from his professor and peers. This experience sparked a deeper desire to challenge himself further, leading him to join the university’s theater group. After a year of involvement, he took on a small role in a theater sketch, experiencing an exhilarating sense of freedom and self-expression on stage.
Rising Through the Ranks
Masoud’s dedication to theater did not go unnoticed. After a year, he was elected president of the university’s theater group. Under his leadership, the group participated in the University Street Theater Festival in Oman, securing the Best Overall Performance award. Masoud himself was honored with the Best Actor award, while his colleagues received accolades for Best Actress, Best Script, and Best Sound Performance. The performance, titled “The AL-eandalib Street,” inspired Masoud to adopt the moniker “AL-eandalib” as a reminder of this significant achievement.
Stepping onto Professional Stages
Masoud’s talent caught the attention of a renowned actor during a workshop on physical performance in theater. This led to an invitation to perform at the prestigious Oman Theater Festival, held at the Al-Irfan City Theater—the largest stage in the Gulf. Performing before an audience of esteemed Omani theater legends was a milestone in Masoud’s career, marking his transition into the professional theater scene.
Expanding Horizons: Film and Beyond
The Oman Theater Festival opened new doors for Masoud. He was offered a leading role in the Omani film “Star Hunter,” further establishing his presence in the artistic community. Transitioning from university stages to professional arenas presented challenges, but Masoud embraced each opportunity as a chance to grow and refine his craft. He understood that success required continuous learning and adaptation, especially in an environment where audiences and critics held deep appreciation for the art form.
