Visit Qatar Successfully Concludes Inaugural Roadshow in Kuwait

Doha, Qatar – Visit Qatar has successfully concluded its first official roadshow in Kuwait, held in partnership with Go Beyond, a leading representation agency powered by Al Khaleej Travel. The event provided an exclusive platform to position Qatar as a premier leisure and business destination, showcasing its exceptional offerings for short-haul vacations, winter getaways, and stopovers.

The roadshow brought together key partners from Qatar’s tourism sector, including Qatar Airways and a number of Qatar’s top hotels, alongside 150 industry professionals from leading tour operators and travel agencies in Kuwait. Attendees engaged in productive networking sessions that fostered meaningful business connections, while a dedicated presentation showcased Qatar’s diverse tourism landscape, world-class attractions, and its growing role as a key travel hub in the region.

Adding to the excitement, the event also featured a special raffle draw, where the lucky winner(s) received a 2-night voucher from the roadshow’s participating hotels.

Kuwait remains a key market for Visit Qatar, with more than 170,000 travellers arriving in Doha from Kuwait in 2024, seeking a world-class destination that is family-friendly and close to home.

Qatar, offering visa-free travel to 102 countries, welcomes visitors by land, air, and sea. With a short flight from neighbouring countries, travellers can easily enjoy the best of Qatar’s tourism offerings, from luxurious resorts to a vibrant cultural scene – all within close proximity to Doha’s city centre.

GCC travellers can also benefit from exclusive offers through the “Visit Qatar Pass,” available on the Visit Qatar mobile app. This pass provides discounts of 30 to 50 per cent across a range of categories, including food and drink, beauty and spa, health and fitness, leisure and entertainment, hotel stays, and retail services.

With the success of its first roadshow in Kuwait, Visit Qatar continues to strengthen its regional presence, reinforcing its commitment to positioning Qatar as a must-visit tourist destination.

Qatar’s Tourism Strategy and Regional Engagement

Qatar’s tourism sector has been actively engaging with neighboring countries to promote its diverse offerings. In 2017, the Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) led a roadshow to Oman and Kuwait to promote Qatar as a tourism destination. The initiative aimed to increase the number of tour operators selling holiday packages to Qatar and to gather insights to tailor Qatar’s tourism offerings for visitors from these neighboring countries.

More recently, in January 2025, Visit Qatar hosted the first Arabia Luxury Travel Show in Doha. The event welcomed over 160 luxury tour operators and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) agents from key markets, including Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, and the Baltic States. More than 50 distinguished hotels, destination management companies, and tourism boards from across the region participated, highlighting the Middle East’s world-class luxury offerings and solidifying the region as a hub for premium tourism.

Qatar’s Appeal to Kuwaiti Travelers

Qatar’s proximity and cultural ties make it an attractive destination for Kuwaiti travelers. The country’s visa-free entry policy for Kuwaiti citizens simplifies travel arrangements, encouraging more visitors to explore Qatar’s offerings. The short flight duration between Kuwait and Doha further enhances Qatar’s appeal as a convenient getaway.

The “Visit Qatar Pass” enhances the visitor experience by offering significant discounts across various services and attractions. This initiative not only provides value to travelers but also encourages them to explore a wider range of experiences during their stay.

Future Prospects and Initiatives

Building on the success of the inaugural roadshow in Kuwait, Visit Qatar plans to continue its regional engagement strategy. Future initiatives may include similar roadshows in other GCC countries, collaborative marketing campaigns, and the development of tailored travel packages to attract a broader audience.

By fostering strong relationships with regional travel agencies and tour operators, Visit Qatar aims to create customized experiences that cater to the preferences of GCC travelers. This approach aligns with Qatar’s broader tourism strategy to diversify its visitor base and promote sustainable growth in the sector.

In conclusion, Visit Qatar’s inaugural roadshow in Kuwait marks a significant milestone in the country’s tourism development efforts. Through strategic regional engagement and a focus on delivering exceptional visitor experiences, Qatar is well-positioned to enhance its reputation as a premier destination for travelers from Kuwait and beyond.
