A Journey That Started with a Simple Invitation

Sulaiman Alsayegh never imagined that he would one day become a world record holder. His journey into powerlifting started with a simple yet life-changing invitation from his brother.

“Come do powerlifting with me,” his brother encouraged. At first, Sulaiman saw it as just another challenge, a new experience to try. But as he began lifting, he realized that powerlifting was more than just a sport—it was something he was passionate about. It became an essential part of his life, pushing him to strive for excellence every day.

Breaking the World Record Deadlift

For many athletes, setting a world record is an impossible feat. It requires years of training, mental resilience, and an unbreakable spirit. For Sulaiman, the journey to breaking the world record in the deadlift was nothing short of extraordinary.

Through intense training sessions, countless hours in the gym, and a commitment to mastering his technique, he turned his dream into reality. It wasn’t just about lifting weights; it was about pushing his body beyond limits and proving to himself that he was capable of achieving greatness.

“One day, it was just a dream,” he recalls. “Now, it’s my reality.”

The Road to Success Wasn’t Easy

Reaching the top was anything but easy. Every competition brought new challenges, testing both his physical and mental strength. One of the biggest obstacles was cutting weight before each event. To compete in the 53kg (BW) category for the first three competitions, Sulaiman had to go through intense dieting and conditioning, often losing several kilograms in a short period to make weight. For his last competition, he moved up to the 59kg category, which he plans to remain in until he retires from powerlifting.

His daily routine included strict meal plans, controlled calorie intake, and long hours of sweat-dripping workouts. Despite the difficulties, he never backed down.

“To be the best, you have to make sacrifices,” he says. “If you want something, earn it.”

Becoming the Best in the World

Sulaiman didn’t just want to be good—he wanted to be the best 59kg powerlifter in the world. This required extreme dedication, consistency, and a mindset that refused to settle for anything less than victory.

His training routine was nothing short of grueling. He focused on perfecting every aspect of his lifts—deadlifts, squats, and bench presses—ensuring that he could perform at his peak during competitions. Recovery was just as important as training. He incorporated stretching, mobility drills, and proper nutrition to maintain his strength and prevent injuries.

“Push harder, you can do it,” he constantly reminded himself. With this mentality, he dominated competitions, earning respect in the powerlifting world and proving that he was a force to be reckoned with.

The Open Class Dream

Many athletes become comfortable after achieving success in their weight class, but Sulaiman is not one of them. He has set his sights on a much bigger goal—competing in the open class and becoming a world champion at an even higher level.

The open class is where the strongest of the strong compete, and it requires an entirely new level of power and endurance. To reach this milestone, Sulaiman is working harder than ever, increasing his strength, perfecting his form, and continuously challenging himself.

“It’s about always pushing the limits,” he says. “There’s always another level to reach.”

More Than Just a Powerlifter

Sulaiman’s journey isn’t just about lifting weights—it’s about inspiring others to chase their dreams. His lifestyle is built around discipline, perseverance, and self-belief, and he wants others to know that they too can achieve greatness if they put in the effort.

Beyond the competition stage, Sulaiman actively shares his experiences and insights with aspiring athletes. He wants to show that with hard work and determination, anything is possible. His story is proof that no matter where you start, you can always go further if you refuse to give up.

“No matter where you start, if you keep pushing, you will get there,” he encourages.

The Power of Hard Work and Dedication

Sulaiman’s story is a testament to the power of hard work, dedication, and persistence. Success is not given—it is earned. From being a beginner in powerlifting to holding a world record, he has proven that with the right mindset, anything is possible.

His advice to those who want to achieve their goals? “Work hard, stay consistent, and never give up. If you truly want something, go out there and make it happen.”

His relentless pursuit of greatness serves as motivation for anyone facing obstacles in life, whether in sports or any other field.
